Mascenic Families and Students,
We’re excited to kick off Spirit Week next week as we lead into Homecoming Weekend! Each day will feature a fun theme to bring our school community together and show our Viking pride.
👉 Important Reminder: School Picture Day is Monday, September 8th. This year, picture day falls on our first Spirit Day—Mismatch Monday—so please plan accordingly to ensure students are ready for their school photos while still participating in the fun.
Spirit Week is a great opportunity for students to celebrate, build community, and create memories as we head into Homecoming. We can’t wait to see everyone’s school spirit on display all week long!
Go Vikings!

Dear Mascenic Families,
We are excited to share that Milford High School & Applied Technology Center will be hosting a CTE Open House on Wednesday, September 11th. This event highlights the wide range of Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs available to students.
CTE provides incredible opportunities for our students to:
Gain hands-on, real-world learning experiences
Build industry-recognized skills and certifications
Explore career pathways aligned with their interests and strengths
Enhance their overall high school learning through applied, engaging coursework
We strongly encourage families to attend this event to learn more about how CTE can support and expand your student’s educational journey.

Today's 5th grade advisory classes were participating in activities around grit, responsibility, respect and relationships. I partnered with Will and Zion (we eat similar breakfasts) and they talked about how to "raise others up" when they are down to help create positive relationships. Other advisory classes were discussing non-examples of responsibility and building community through games. These traits pair well with the MRSD Vision of a Learner Competencies! Happy Friday!

Today was a great day in Mascenic as staff were welcomed back from summer break! We were busy with our 2nd annual pancake breakfast, safety training, and Vision of a Learner overview. Over the next two days staff will continue to prepare for students arrival on Thursday!#gettingexcited

Isaac Phillips, a beloved member of our Mascenic community, fought bravely against cancer for several years. Last night, he peacefully passed away surrounded by his loved ones. Though Isaac's battle was unimaginably hard, and his time on this earth was far too short, his illness did not win. It never touched his light, his sense of humor, his laughter, or the love he gave and received. In every interaction, he showed us what true strength looks like. Death may have taken the body, but it could never claim his spirit and in that, it had no victory.
In the days ahead, we recognize that this news may bring up a variety of emotions for those within our community. We are finalizing plans to provide support to both staff and students and will relay those plans as soon as possible. We will also share information on services, donations, or other ways to support the family as this information becomes available.
There are no perfect words for times like this. However, we will continue to honor Isaac's life in the way we support one another, remember him , and carry his spirit forward. Our hearts are with Isaac’s family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
