BMS Food Drive 12/5-12/9

During the week of December 5th-9th, our school will collect canned and dry goods (non-perishable, non-refrigerated) to donate to our local food pantry. Our food drive will help students and families in our school and community during a season that can be especially difficult. To make this drive fun, we have decided to have a friendly competition between class advisories. Students should bring in goods to their advisory teacher. The 8th Grade Executive Committee will collect the goods during Boynton Block. The items will be tallied and reported out. For tallying purposes, items that come packaged together count as 1 item; please do not unpackage them- the food pantry will not be able to accept them like that. The advisory that wins (has the most goods at the end of the week) will earn homemade chocolate chip cookies made by Mrs. Stacy! Please donate what you can. One grocery bag of food can provide as many as ten meals. Every donation helps, and our combined donations can make a real difference for those in need. Some suggestions of what to donate and some of the most needed items are; canned soups/stews, quick bread mixes, jelly, pancake mixes, pasta (varied), raisins, pasta sauce, oatmeal/cereals, macaroni and cheese, apple sauce, granola bars, rice, canned vegetables, juice boxes, tuna, fruit snacks, canned chicken, cake mixes, toilet paper, soap/shampoo/personal hygiene items.

We look forward to seeing how our students and their families can positively impact and help our community!
