Boynton Blast 12/1/23

Good Afternoon, BMS Families,

Winter is starting to set in.  As someone who loves to wear shorts whenever possible, I encourage you to have your child dress for the weather, especially as the snow starts to fly. Below is some information about our upcoming events.

FOOD DRIVE
During the week of December 4th -8, our school will collect canned goods and dry goods (non-perishable, non-refrigerated) to donate to our local food pantry.  Our food drive will help students and families in our school and community during a season that can be especially difficult.  With the holiday season and cold weather here, now is the time to give and help those in our community who are in the most need.

Please donate what you can.  One grocery bag of food can provide as many as ten meals.  Every donation helps, and our combined donations can make a real difference for those in need.

Some suggestions of what to donate and some of the most needed items are:

Canned soups/stews, quick bread mixes, jelly, pancake mixes, pasta (varied), raisins, pasta, sauce, oatmeal/cereals, macaroni and cheese, apple sauce, granola bars, rice, canned vegetables, juice boxes, tuna, fruit snacks, canned chicken, cake mixes, toilet paper, soap/shampoo/ personal hygiene items.

We look forward to seeing how our students and their families can positively impact and help our community!

HOLIDAY BAZAAR
Recently, field trip permission slips went home with your child.  On December 11, 2023, the BMS students will be bussed to the high school to attend the 1st Annual Holiday Bazaar.  The Bazaar will have gifts for family, friends, and pets, Christmas items, Jewelry, a candy table, baked goods, and raffles.  The Bazaar is sponsored by Friends of Mascenic and will accept cash and Venmo.

SCHOOL NURSE
The BMS Nurse, Mrs. Heaphy, is looking for donations of healthy snacks. Mrs. Heaphy provides snacks to students who become hungry during the day.  If you can donate, it is greatly appreciated.  All donations can be dropped off in the Main Office at BMS.
