Good afternoon Mascenic! In light of the recent issues, we wanted to highlight our partnership with Hileman Security Training Group (HSTG) for the upcoming year; training for staff, conversations/drills with students, and a Parent Night on November 13th, 6:00PM in the MRHS Cafeteria! Please see the letter attached!
We also wanted to highlight that tonight at the School Board meeting we will be presenting the first draft of our school district's budget! We would love to see you and have the opportunity to explain our process and what this proposed budget does for students in the community! 6PM at the SAU.

At the start of each month we hold our morning announcements via a live broadcast from our WHHES Studio into the classrooms. We have special guests, important announcements and messages about our core school values. I would like to share this week’s video with everyone to watch if you wish. While a lot of these are scripted, there is also a fair amount of ad libbing thrown it. This month we recognized some really great examples of kind behavior by specific students. We hope you enjoy it with the link below.

Today, students in the kindergarten learned about the letter "m". Students in Mrs. Caravella's class even got to meet a special "letter friend", Marvin the mouse! Kindergarten helps build the foundation for lifelong learning!!!

Today's 5th grade advisory classes were participating in activities around grit, responsibility, respect and relationships. I partnered with Will and Zion (we eat similar breakfasts) and they talked about how to "raise others up" when they are down to help create positive relationships. Other advisory classes were discussing non-examples of responsibility and building community through games. These traits pair well with the MRSD Vision of a Learner Competencies! Happy Friday!

Isaac Phillips, a beloved member of our Mascenic community, fought bravely against cancer for several years. Last night, he peacefully passed away surrounded by his loved ones. Though Isaac's battle was unimaginably hard, and his time on this earth was far too short, his illness did not win. It never touched his light, his sense of humor, his laughter, or the love he gave and received. In every interaction, he showed us what true strength looks like. Death may have taken the body, but it could never claim his spirit and in that, it had no victory.
In the days ahead, we recognize that this news may bring up a variety of emotions for those within our community. We are finalizing plans to provide support to both staff and students and will relay those plans as soon as possible. We will also share information on services, donations, or other ways to support the family as this information becomes available.
There are no perfect words for times like this. However, we will continue to honor Isaac's life in the way we support one another, remember him , and carry his spirit forward. Our hearts are with Isaac’s family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
