Mrs. Kutyla's class, together with Mrs. Johnson, embarked on a chick hatching project this spring. We incubated twelve eggs and charted their growth and development over 21 days. We learned about how chick embryos form and what conditions are needed to have a successful hatch. We are happy to report that 5 adorable little chicks hatched on Friday, April 14th! The hatching was available via live stream for the whole school to experience. All of HHES was abuzz with joy and amazement at watching these little birds work so hard to break out of their shell! A special thank you goes out to Bator Farm here in New Ipswich for donating the hatching eggs. Please click the link below to view a few pictures of the hatching chicks.
