CTE field trip

Jen Kiley, the CTE (Career and Technical Education) Director, came to MRHS to speak with students in grades 9-11. Mrs. Kiley highlighted the various opportunities and benefits of participating in the CTE program. As we begin to think about course selection for next year it is important to remember that CTE courses are viable options!

A few highlights from the presentation included;

  • A review of the programs offered at each of the three schools

  • If there are programs that students are interested in that are not part of our CTE center, they can go elsewhere!

  • Transportation, in one way or another, is paid for! Either schools provide transportation or students are reimbursed for transportation.

  • This is an opportunity to figure out what you DO NOT want to pursue in your future as much as it is an opportunity to figure out what you DO want to pursue.

  • We work with students to find time in their schedules to accommodate CTE courses and travel time.

We have a field trip to Conval to tour their programs next week on February 7th, 2024. Permission slips are due by February 2nd to secure a spot on the bus. Permission slips turned in after February 2nd  will be on a first come, first serve basis.

Conval has their CTE Open House on February 15th, from 6:30-8:00. Families are encouraged to attend to meet teachers, view workspaces, and gain a deeper understanding of the CTE programs.
