MRHS Senior, Amelia Smith, has been named a Semifinalist in the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program and has an opportunity to continue in the National Merit Scholarship competition. It is anticipated that, of the 16,000 Semifinalists, abut 95 percent will attain Finalist standing, and about half will earn a National Merit Scholarship.
Amelia's high score on the 2022 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) earned her a place as a Semifinalist. The nationwide pool of Semifinalists represents less than one percent of all U.S. high school seniors and includes the highest-scoring entrants in each state.
