On June 12th, 2023, forty-nine students and five chaperones embarked on a trip to Washington, DC. Over the next five days, students toured our nation’s capital. Highlights included an evening tour of the WWII memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, Korean War Memorial, a tour of Arlington National Cemetery and participation in a  “Laying the Wreath” ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, tours of the Iwo Jima Memorial, FDR and Martin Luther King Memorials, visitation at a variety of notable museums, Ford’s Theatre, US Capitol Building Tour and a dinner at Medieval Times. The group returned June 17th, 2023, exhausted but happy.

By all accounts, our student’s behavior was impeccable. Throughout the trip, numerous adults not associated with our school commented on their respectful attitude and cooperative nature. Taking forty-nine students across multiple states is a huge endeavor, made easier by student’s who are respectful and cooperative! Thank you to Mrs. Salmonson for organizing this event; Mr. Mellish,  Mr. Taylor, Mrs. Zina, and Mrs. Peterson for chaperoning, and to all the students who made this trip worthwhile!

Here are some pictures from the trip!
